Climate Change and Sustainability

Event Date

South Lanarkshire Council, in conjunction with Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire, are hosting a climate change and sustainability conversation session for the Third Sector.

This session will give the third sector an opportunity to share their views on climate change and sustainable development and will help to shape a climate change and sustainability strategy and action plan for South Lanarkshire.

We will explore the opportunities that the climate change summit being held in Glasgow in November (COP26) might bring and the legacy that it will leave.

Climate change impacts us all, therefore collective action is needed to stop our contribution to it, this session will hopefully build upon the collaborative action already taking place across South Lanarkshire. There will be an information section at the start to help participants understand the issues around climate change and sustainable development, and then we will provide an open space for discussion. We will look to explore what is the role of the third sector, the role of the Council, and the role of others in addressing climate change and developing sustainably. We will also explore how both the Council and third sector can work closer together for a Sustainable South Lanarkshire.

A link will be issued once you have registered to attend this event.
