Location: Banqueting Hall, South Lanarkshire Council Headquarters
The Strengthening Engagement Project will hold a half day collaborative event with Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire and South Lanarkshire Council Community Planning Partnership.
The project, which the Criminal Justice Voluntary Sector Forum has run with Scottish Government funding since summer 2015, seeks to establish and strengthen relationships between the third sector and statutory partners under the new community justice arrangements, with a particular focus on third sector involvement in planning of and reporting on community justice. For a full description of the project and for an overview of its previous activities please see the project website.
The event is open to all third sector organisations working in the South Lanarkshire local authority area who provide services to or promote the interests of those involved in the justice system, including victims and families, as well as all statutory partners under the Community Justice (Scotland) Act 2016. This includes those organisations who may not consider themselves to be working in 'justice' directly but whose work provides broader services relating to employability, homelessness or addiction, for example, that work regularly with those in the justice system.
The half day collaborative workshop will bring together statutory and third sector partners involved in community justice across the South Lanarkshire area together. The event serves as an opportunity for partners to meet one another and will focus on understanding the current scope of third sector activity and establishing links between the third sector and the partnership for future engagement. An informal networking lunch will be provided.
