APPOINTMENT OF NEW VASLan CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The board of Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire (VASLan) are pleased to announce the appointment of Steven Sweeney as our new CEO. 

Steven has a long and impressive record of delivering services as a third sector leader and he has a stated passion for working collaboratively both within the sector and with Community Planning partners. We are delighted with his commitment to supporting and developing the diverse and dynamic sector in South Lanarkshire and we look forward to Steven starting his new role on the 1st of March at a challenging and exciting time for the sector as it continues to deliver extraordinary support to our communities.

I am most excited about meeting the many fantastic Iocal third sector organisations in South Lanarkshire, listening, learning and building on the valued support provided by the excellent VASLan staff team. I look forward to working collaboratively with the Community Planning partners to further empower our communities and build on the social capital won through the pandemic’, Steven. 

Steven is joining VASLan following the departure of Gordon Bennie and we would like to take the opportunity to thank Gordon for his hard work and commitment to VASLan over the last ten years.
