Volunteers’ Week 2022: A Year of Stories

The 2022 Volunteers’ Week is only around the corner. As part of the celebrations, and in conjunction with Scotland’s Theme Year: Year of Stories, we would like to invite individual volunteers, organisations, and community groups across South Lanarkshire to share your wonderful stories to celebrate Volunteers’ Week

What are your stories?

Every volunteer has a story. Whether it is your first volunteering experience or your most memorable volunteering moment, we would love to hear it!

When was the first time you volunteered? How is your volunteering journey? What made you decide to volunteer? Let us know, and you are allowed to be as creative as you like! Have some fun when telling us your stories.

You can also send us a ‘THANK YOU’ messages to recognise the contribution of volunteers.

Your stories and ‘Thank You’ messages can be created in a different format:

  • Written stories – a template is available to help you get started
  • Video
  • Handwritten messages
  • Photo gallery – share your volunteering activities in a photographic format and caption for description
  • Drawings
  • Poems
  • Songs, and many other creative ways to do.

Where can you share your stories?

You are welcome to share any volunteering your stories and Thank You note. Please choose the method that suits you the most!

We will publish your stories on VASLan’s Volunteers’ Week website http://vaslan.org.uk/volunteersweek/ and on social media.
