Nominations open for Volunteering Awards 2016

South Lanarkshire's Volunteering Awards will be held during Volunteers' Week between the 1st and 12th June 2016. We are looking for people to take this opportunity to nominate a friend, colleague or someone volunteering with your organisation who you feel is worthy of a special mention for their exceptional voluntary work.
There are five categories in which you can nominate:

Most of us will have someone in mind when we think of this category - and now is your opportunity to show your appreciation! We are seeking the names of special individuals whose dedication, commitment and compassion has made them worthy of being recognised as South Lanarkshire's outstanding volunteer of the past year.

Similarly, this is someone who has gone the extra mile in their volunteering in the past year, and is between the ages of 12 and 25. Whatever the role may be, we are looking for nominations of young people who have impressed with their hard work this year.

A long-standing commitment to an organisation can often be vital for ensuring life-changing services continue to get delivered - and that's what this category is all about. This Award is aimed at recognising the service of people who volunteered with the same organisation for five years or more.

Environmental projects within the third sector continue to grow at an encouraging rate. This award is about giving proper recognition to exceptional individuals who have volunteered with a community growing project, recycling project, outdoor education project or anything similar in the past year.

A hardworking and involved board is often the backbone of a successful third sector organisation. We are looking for nominations for trustees or committee members who have performed an outstanding job for their organisation in the past year.
