Coronavirus Advice and Guidelines

Over recent days we have seen a sharp increase in the number of COVID-19 cases within Lanarkshire. It is our priority that everyone in our community remains safe and is aware of the advice and guidelines provided by the Scottish Government, NHS and the Local Authority.

As it currently stands we are being asked by the Scottish Government to remain at home and only leave our homes for essentials:

  • Shopping for necessities
  • Exercise once a day (alone or with members of your household)
  • To and from essential work

The symptoms of COVID-19 are a new and continuous cough and/or fever/high temperature. Call NHS 111 if you develop breathlessness or your condition worsens, especially if you:

  •  are 70 years or older
  • have underlying poor health
  • have heart or lung conditions
  • have a poor immune system, including cancer
  • have diabetes

Keep up to date with changes and developments on the NHS Inform website:

In addition OSCR is providing advice on what measures organisations should be taking, please see the links to their website:

Over the coming days we will be contacting Third Sector and community organisations across South Lanarkshire to assess the current position in your area.

We would ask that you take the time to participate either in a short telephone discussion or respond to a survey related to the same.
