Important update on VASLan's learning platform and future training

VASLan, the Third Sector Interface (TSI) for South Lanarkshire, is undertaking an important transition to improve how we support learning and development across the sector.

After careful consideration, we have decided to begin the process of closing our current learning platform, the Learning Circle. This decision is part of a wider strategy to modernise our training offer and ensure we continue to meet the evolving needs of our members, partners, and communities.

To support this transition:

  • Our current website, which is now outdated, will be replaced over the coming months. While we update our digital infrastructure, we will maintain access to the Learning Circle for existing users. Anyone or any organisation with an active licence will retain access until they complete their course, but no later than 31 March 2026.
  • Our new website will include a toolkits for organisations and will offer a range of high-quality online learning opportunities to support organisations at every stage of development.
  • TSI staff at VASLan will participate in an SQA-recognised course in August 2025. This qualification will focus on planning and delivering training sessions for groups and organisations, enhancing the quality and consistency of our learning delivery.
  • In parallel, we are redeveloping our face-to-face training offer, with revised and updated lesson plans to ensure robust quality assurance across all delivery.

Looking ahead, VASLan will offer a comprehensive programme of online courses via the new website, alongside in-person capacity-building information sessions for third sector organisations throughout South Lanarkshire.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period of change and apologise for any inconvenience caused. Our commitment remains to provide relevant, accessible, and impactful learning to support the growth and resilience of the third sector in our region.
