Funding Future for South Lanarkshire

Hosted by South Lanarkshire Council & VASLan | Eastfield Community Centre, Cambuslang

As the second development session in South Lanarkshire’s Third Sector Partnership Review, this Funding Workshop brought together 50 local organisations committed to shaping fairer and more transparent funding practices.

The session built on the momentum of May’s Strategic Engagement Workshop and marked another important milestone in the Keep The Beat Alive journey.

Over two and a half hours of open and constructive dialogue, participants:

- Reflected on current funding experiences and variation across services
- Explored what fairness and security look like in practice, from grant duration to fair pay
- Discussed simplifying application, monitoring and evaluation processes
- Imagined a more community-led model of funding, including the idea of a South Lanarkshire Community Fund

Contributions from the session will directly inform the draft South Lanarkshire Grant Policy, currently in co-design.

These workshops are part of a wider review process to deliver on the three core asks of the KTBA campaign:

1. Recognise the sector’s value
2. Smarter, more sustainable funding practices
3. Meaningful engagement between the Third Sector and decision-makers

Next up: our Commissioning Workshop on 24 June will take the conversation further, exploring procurement, partnership, and co-design. Click here to book your place.

Together, we’re not just rethinking funding. We’re reimagining what a fair partnership looks like in South Lanarkshire.

Let’s Keep the Beat Alive.
