Level 1 Falls Assessment & Hazard Awareness Training

NHS Lanarkshire Falls Prevention team have teamed up with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to offer a free joint training programme for volunteers and Third Sector staff members working with older people and those with vulnerabilities. 

This 2 hour training programme consists of:-

Level 1 Falls Awareness Training which will enable you to identify conditions when someone is frail or unsteady on their feet and at increased risk of suffering a trip or fall.  This includes guidance on the type of conversation that should take place around this issue and how to refer people to the falls prevention programme.

Hazard Awareness Training delivered by SFRS South Lanarkshire’s Community Action Team which includes guidance on identifying risk factors in the home or surrounding environment in relation to falls, fire safety issues and other hazardous effects.  This training will include guidance on referring people for home safety visits.
