Third Sector Awards Return in 2021

Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire's Third Sector Awards will return this October and will recognise the very best work undertaken by South Lanarkshire's volunteers, charities, community groups and social enterprises. 

The awards will recognise the wide, varied and vital work carried out by the South Lanarkshire third sector on a daily basis. Anyone can nominate an organisation or volunteer (including themselves).  

Nominations are now being accepted for the following categories:  

Young Volunteer Award  

This category will recognise a special young volunteer aged 25 years old or younger who has made a significant contribution and commitment to volunteering, making them an exemplary role model for young people in South Lanarkshire.  

Long-Serving Volunteer Award  

This award recognises the dedication and service of volunteers of all ages who have volunteered with an organisation for a period of five or more years and who continue to have an invaluable impact on the organisation and those it supports.   

Volunteer of the Year Award  

This award will be presented to an extraordinary individual whose outstanding commitment to volunteering has changed lives and/or communities, inspired others and made them worthy of special recognition.   

Enterprise and Innovation Award  

This category celebrates organisations that successfully embrace enterprising and innovative practices, including selling products and services, in order to financially support the services that achieve their social purposes.  This could also be for environmental or climate innovations.   

Partnership and Collaboration Award  

This award recognises organisations that have promoted and engaged in effective partnership working and collaborative projects in order to better deliver outcomes for South Lanarkshire’s communities.    

Organisation of the Year Award  

This prestigious award will be presented in celebration of an exceptional organisation that, through its services and projects in South Lanarkshire, has had a special impact on the lives and communities it endeavours to support.   

Covid 19 Response Award 

This special category recognises the organisations and volunteers who have gone above and beyond to support the communities within South Lanarkshire throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. This award is open for nominations for volunteers or organisations.

Nominations are open until 30th July 2021 and will be assessed by a judging panel of representatives from a cross-section of agencies.  The top three in each category will be announced and all shortlisted nominations will be invited to attend a glittering awards ceremony in October (COVID restrictions permitting) where winners will be announced.
