Keep the Beat Alive
The Keep the Beat Alive campaign launched in April 2024 and was co-produced by over 100 local organisations. Third sector organisations, community groups and volunteers from across South Lanarkshire came together to advocate for change on a local and national level.
The aim of the campaign is simple: for policy shapers and key decision makers to recgonise the true value of the sector , prioritise fairer funding and meaningfully engage with voluntary organisations.
In June, the impact of the campaign became clear as a motion was passed by South Lanarkshire Council. Members endorsed the Fair Funding Charter and agreed to key campaign asks. However, our work is not done as the third sector continues to face funding cuts and go undervalued.
Heading in to the next phase of the campaign, we have launched a Financial & Funding Survey asking all local organisations to get involved so that we can use real data to advocate for fairer funding on a local and national level, challenge unfair cuts and better support charities, groups and social enterprises in South Lanarkshire.
