CPP Engagement Development Day

On Wednesday 14 May, VASLan hosted a powerful day of engagement between the Community Planning Partnership (CPP) and the Third Sector.

The CPP Development Day brought together key voices from across the third sector and statutory bodies to explore how we can work better together to deliver real change for our communities. Three organisations represented the sector, with VASLan proud to host. The day focused on creating more genuine, resourced and inclusive collaboration within the Community Planning Partnership.

Highlights from the day:
•    Strong calls to break down “us vs them” culture between sectors.
•    Emphasis on shared learning and mutual respect.
•    Clear demand for third sector seats at the strategic table.
•    Push for sustainable, place-based solutions, not crisis response.
•    Need for a CPP structure that reflects local needs and voices.
•    Calls for co-design, community wealth building, and Marmot-aligned planning.

Key proposed actions:
•    Create better-supported third sector representation across CPP workstreams.
•    Launch a shared platform for engagement and info-sharing.
•    Develop a South Lanarkshire Communities Fund.
•    Champion co-produced planning and policy.

This is just the start. With continued effort, shared leadership, and transparent processes, we can build a stronger, fairer, community-led South Lanarkshire. Let’s Keep the Beat Alive.
