Disabled Access Day

The purpose of Disabled Access Day is to celebrate accessibility and inclusion across the UK. With this in mind, we wanted to highlight some initiatives that can improve accessibility for neurodiverse individuals who would otherwise feel unable to enjoy some aspects of life without support.

International Women's Day

International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Additionally, it’s a call to action for accelerating gender parity, recognizing the barriers women face, and celebrating the milestones in women’s rights and equality.

Cervical Cancer Awareness Week

Cervical Cancer Prevention Week 2024 is a dedicated awareness campaign aimed at educating people about cervical cancer, its prevention, and the importance of regular screenings. Cervical cancer is a largely preventable disease, and this week serves as a reminder to prioritize cervical health and take steps to reduce the risk of this cancer.

Random Acts of Kindness Day

Random Acts of Kindness Day is a day dedicated to promoting kindness and goodwill. It encourages individuals to perform simple, unexpected acts of kindness to brighten someone’s day and create a ripple effect of positivity. It’s a day to celebrate the power of kindness and compassion.

Time to Talk Day

Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation. Happening every year, it’s a day for friends, families, communities, and workplaces to come together to talk, listen and change lives.

Time to Talk Day 2024 will take place 1 February 2024. It’s run by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness and is being delivered in partnership with Co-op for the third year running. Across the UK, it’s delivered by See Me in Scotland, Inspire in Northern Ireland and Time to Change Wales.

This is an exciting time to be joining VASLan. We are about to launch a new three-year strategy which sets out our ambitious plans for the future. VASLan are seeking to appoint several new Trustees who will help in shaping and setting the strategic direction, review and monitor VASLan's work and activities, both financial and operational whilst supporting and challenging the Leadership Team in achieving the organisation's mission, vision, and goals.
