Lanark Community Development Trust would like to thank all of or volunteers that help to maintain the gardens at Castlebank Park. We have a very dedicated team of volunteers that have managed to do over 330 hours of volunteering in May alone!

Our volunteers have helped with restoring the park to its former glory, as well as developing new areas of interest in the park.

Lanark Community Development Trust is a charitable, non-profit body which carries out projects for the common good. It is an independent, volunteer-led organisation which is part of a growing network of Development Trusts which exist across Scotland and the UK. Here in Lanark, we aspire to develop and deliver priority community projects which have a social, environmental and economic impact. We do not and will not deliver on the responsibilities of statutory authorities, but rather seek to add value to existing activity.

At any given time, we’ll be working on two or three projects which will be at various stages of development – anything from a fledgling idea right through to a fully planned and funded initiative. We’re keen to be recognised as a body which can support and facilitate other local organisations, acting as an ‘umbrella’ or ‘incubator’ for smaller groups which may not have the resources to enable them to deliver on their own.
