FAMS: Chat Listening Ear Service Volunteer Operators
FAMS are a Lanarkshire based charity supporting people across Scotland. We support the health and wellbeing of adults and young people, their families, peers and communities; who have been affected by trauma, post Murder and Suicide. FAMS also supports the health and wellbeing of adults, children and young people, presenting with distress, or mild to moderate mental health issues; often coupled with suicidal behaviours.
Location: Remote working with base at Paul Gerard’s Lighthouse, Motherwell, ML1 1QW
Hours: Three Hour Shifts available from 10am to 10pm 7 days a week

Job Purpose
The FAMS.chat Listening Ear Service Volunteer Operators will support callers received through our FAMS.chat phone lines between 10am and 10pm 7 days per week. It is expected that this support primarily consists of being an empathetic Listening Ear for people in distress.
Duties and Responsibilities

Provide report documentation for all calls received

Adhere to all FAMS policies and procedures.

Attend monthly meetings and stay current with FAMS communications

Commitment to six hours per week as a minimum

Adhere to strict GDPR regulations
