Job Vacancy at Speak Out Advocacy Project as Advocacy/Project Worker

Speak Out Advocacy Project has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to support the continued development and delivery of our advocacy service throughout South Lanarkshire. The successful candidate will be responsible to the Project Manager and be prepared to work in a team setting.

Along with other team members, the candidate will be responsible for the continued development of the service, delivery of one-to-one professional advocacy and promotion of participation for people with a Learning Disability / Physical Disability.

Major Task and Responsibilities:

  1. To provide an advocacy service/carry a varied caseload
  2. To support and facilitate group work when necessary
  3. To liaise with and to promote the service to other agencies/organisations when necessary
  4. Support the development of relevant monitoring and evaluation tools
  5. Maintain accurate records
  6. Support the development of the service
  7. Any other tasks as deemed necessary

Reporting to: Project Manager

Work base: South Lanarkshire (Speak Out Advocacy Project office in Hamilton) / there is also a facility for remote working

Hours and conditions: 28 hours per week on a fixed term basis from 01/04/2022 to 31/03/2023 with possible 12-month extension; Flexibility of hours essential

Salary: Annual salary – 28 hours per week with a salary of £20,384 to £21,840 based on experience and suitability
