South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership’s Strategic Commissioning Plan: views wanted

South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership are seeking wider public and stakeholder views as they seek to shape a crucial plan.

An online survey is now live at https://bit.ly/2yy6VI1

The Strategic Commissioning Plan 2019 – 2022 will set out the key priorities in the ongoing development of health and social care services in South Lanarkshire over the next three years and beyond.

The Plan is extremely important as it will focus on the support that the H&SCP can provide to people in local communities to assist them to maximise their health and wellbeing.

Val de Souza, Director of Health and Social Care said: “In the spirit of our vision; Working together to improve health and wellbeing in the community – with the community, we are committed to listening and engaging with people throughout South Lanarkshire to help review our existing priorities and identify any emerging needs.

“We’ve already held a series of stakeholder events and our primary mechanism for seeking the wider views of the stakeholders and public is a digital online survey.

“This survey focuses on eliciting crucial information on what people see as the priorities for health and social care delivery.

“I’d encourage people to take this survey and help us shape the future of health and social care - with the key goal of improving people’s lives.”

Strategic commissioning is the term used for all the activities involved in assessing and forecasting needs, linking investment to agreed outcomes, considering options, planning the nature, range and quality of future services and working in partnership to put these in place.

Craig Cunningham, Head of Commissioning and Performance for South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “The importance of effective strategic commissioning for the success of integrated health and social care provision cannot be over-stated.

“The plan will form the blueprint which South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership will follow to improve health and wellbeing in communities – working with communities - across the area.”

The partnership have recently launched an animation and online FAQ to support the wider dialogue. Find out more by visiting https://bit.ly/2EefvBO
