We were so excited to launch the co-produced #KeepTheBeatAlive campaign at our launch event on Thursday 25th April. 

Hosted at Strathaven Town Mill, we premiered four blockbuster films featuring 7 local third sector organisations. With over 70 more being involved in the campaign Impact Report. Five local and national decision makers also joined us for a live Q&A session to discuss how we can work together to meet the campaign's 3 main asks: 1. Recognise our value 2. Be smarter about funding 3. Meaningfully engage with us. 

VASLan welcomes Lauren McKechnie as the new Chairperson of the Trustee

VASLan is delighted to announce the appointment of Lauren McKechnie as Chairperson of its Board of Trustees.

Lauren officially joined the team as Chairperson on Friday, 3rd March 2023.

Lauren McKechnie said: “It’s a wonderful genuine privilege and honour to be appointed as Chairperson. It’s a wonderful organisation that I previously worked with throughout my career. To be part of the Board and to sit as the Chairperson of the Board is an honour.”

VASLan welcomes Teresa Robertson as the new Trustee

On Friday, 3rd March 2023, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Teresa Robertson as VASLan’s new Trustee.

Teresa Robertson will bring new insights and expertise to the leadership of VASLan.

Teresa Robertson said: “I’m absolutely delighted and honoured to be. The organisation, for me, is very much aligned. There’s the internal passion of always helping people.”

VASLan: Moving to Action

We are absolutely delighted to be launching our new strategy for 2022 to 2024, ‘Moving to Action’.

Our previous strategy ended in 2020, and whilst around 65% to 70% was achieved, we perhaps fell a bit short in a few areas, including our approach to volunteering, and to social enterprise. Through the pandemic, we have been playing our part in supporting South Lanarkshire’s third sector emergency response, our sector stepping up when our communities needed it.

Community in South Lanarkshire celebrates the relaunching of Third Sector Locality Network

News Date

VASLan – Third Sector Interface in South Lanarkshire – has launched the first event of Third Sector Locality Network at The Church Halls of St Nicholas in Lanark on Friday, 16th September 2022.

The event is in collaboration with Clydesdale Community Initiative (CCI) Scotland and Healthy Valleys, local organisations that play a role in supporting the communities in the Clydesdale locality.
