We are proud to act as funding lead for South Lanarkshire. We will continue to work with local partners in managing and distributing the funding to organisations and community groups that promote and develop mental health and wellbeing.
The fund will be open to third sector organisations, community groups, and partnerships in South Lanarkshire who are Members of VASLan.

Lanarkshire Division of Police Scotland is committed to engaging with the citizens and communities we serve to best understand what the public want our officers to focus our finite resources on. Although this is a continual process, there is a legal requirement under The Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Act 2012 to formally produce a Local Police Plan every three years.
Lanarkshire Rape Crisis Centre (LRCC) is a Hamilton-based charity that supports victims of rape and sexual abuse. We are honoured to have them spotlighted on our Organisation Spotlight segment this week. We highlight their services which offer across Lanarkshire since 2004. Check out their story below!
People in South Lanarkshire are being encouraged to take part in the next phase of Scotland’s Census.
The Census Coverage Survey (CCS) is the second largest social research exercise in Scotland after the census itself, covering around 1.5% of households nationwide including some in South Lanarkshire. It is run by National Records of Scotland and, together with census data, it helps to provide an accurate estimate of Scotland’s population and the people within it.
VASLan is set to relaunch the Building and Celebrating Communities Programme
VASLan is now inviting applications from organisations and community groups across South Lanarkshire to apply for the small grant scheme Building and Celebrating Communities (BCC) programme. It is a program to get the community groups and grassroots organisations to get BCC appropriate initiatives off the ground.
A further £15 million has been awarded for the second year of the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund to support mental health and wellbeing in communities across Scotland, the Scottish Government confirmed on Saturday (7/5). The funding was launched in October 2021, and it has helped nearly 2,000 community projects to deliver activities and programmes in its first year in Scotland.
On June 13, we joined East Kilbride Heritage Group, Cultural Activities in South Lanarkshire, and Duncanrig Secondary School to launch East Kilbride Heritage Book Village Voices to celebrate its 75th anniversary of becoming a new town.
