Incredible Nigerian Chef who is taking over South Lanarkshire one Community Café at a Time

Nigerian chef is bringing Africa to our doorstep and is awakening our taste buds with his traditional delicacies at the Heart of Africa community café.

Every weekday Tuoyo Ayiku opens his doors in Routes to Work South, on Cambuslang Main Street, to the locals who are patiently waiting to be apportioned their weekly dose of outstanding food.

Whilst visiting Africa last year, Tuoyo was taken aback when his son who was born and raised here in Scotland asked when they would be returning home and he realised that there was a lack of African culture in his son’s life.

Fundraising Volunteers

The session will cover general volunteer management and so will assist participants in their understanding of the value of involving volunteers ,  explain best practice when involving volunteers , begin to develop a volunteering policy and identify sources of information, help and support with a particular interest in volunteer fundraisers roles it will also touch on best practises and  the requirements of fundraisers under the Code of Fundraising Practice guidelines.

Volunteer Management - Full Training

The Volunteer Management Course is aimed at organisations who are at a stage where they feel they could benefit from involving volunteers, or in fact already involve volunteers, but would like to re-examine their procedures and processes.

Together this training aims to combine all four of our volunteer training modules in one comprehensive session covering,

Fundraising Events

An introduction for people who raise funds for their cause to fundraising through a range of events from Coffee mornings to Gala dinners. This is an introduction to event management, covering event planning, budgeting and where to get further help.

Volunteer Management Stage 4: Recruitment and Selection

How can I recruit volunteers for my role? What are the ways I can select volunteers? Join us in our last module as we explore all things recruitment and selection. In this session we will cover:

  • Methods of recruiting and Promotion
  • Planning a recruitment process to get volunteers involved.
  • Selecting potential Volunteer

Community Fundraising

This session will introduce local groups to the potential of generating income through engaging with their community it will cover defining what is meant by community fundraising , introduce a range of different forms of community fundraising and put together an action plan for your organisation.
