SLC and Third Sector Consultation
On behalf of South Lanarkshire’s Third Sector, VASLan have been working closely with South Lanarkshire Council (SLC) to review how we work together and how grant funding is delivered. Following workshops with over 110 third sector organisations, we are now ready to consult the sector on two key documents (attached):
1. Third Sector Partnership Agreement (TSPA) with SLC – outlining shared principles, behaviours, roles, and responsibilities for how we collaborate.
2. Grant Policy – setting out a consistent and transparent framework for applying for, assessing, and managing council-funded grants.
These aim to strengthen collaboration, ensure fairness and transparency in funding processes, focus on community-led priorities, and build a more strategic, co-produced approach to improving outcomes.

• Amendments: 4 – 5 Oct 2025
• Final Report: 6 Oct 2025 (for internal approval)

How to Respond
Please send comments by 3 Oct 2025 to office@vaslan.org.uk. If possible, reference specific sections or page numbers to help us collate feedback efficiently, please don’t send the papers back with tracked changes as we expect lots of feedback.
Together, we can ensure these documents work for all third sector organisations – large and small – and create a strong foundation for future partnership working.
