World Health Day, celebrated on 7 April 2025, will kick off a year-long campaign on maternal and newborn health. The campaign, titled Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures, will urge governments and the health community to ramp up efforts to end preventable maternal and newborn deaths, and to prioritize women’s longer-term health and well-being.
This event is hosted by Clydesdale Community Initiative (CCI) and will take place at St Mary’s Church hall in Lanark from 11.00 am - 2.00pm.

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.
IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific. Find out more here.

This celebration will showcase funded projects from across the four years of the fund, we will hear from participants who have benefited from projects, hear from the Scottish Government team who allocated VASLan the funding and have an opportunity to ask the funding panel questions on what they look for in funding applications.
