Open for application: Corra Foundation Legacy Fund for Fernhill small grant scheme

VASLan is now inviting applications from organisations and community groups operating within the Fernhill community, to apply for the small grant scheme created from the legacy funding provided by the Corra Foundation. The Corra Foundation would like this money to be used to build capacity among residents of Fernhill and the groups they use, or to develop new community activities that will be of benefit to those living within Fernhill, South Lanarkshire.

VASLan, in partnership with Fernhill Stakeholder Group, would like to see links being made by applicants, between proposals for funding and the priorities identified within the “Fernhill Neighbourhood Plan.”

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must operate within the Fernhill area.
  • Applicants should be a voluntary organisation with their own constitution and bank account in the name of the group or in the process / have the intention to become one – VASLan can provide support to achieve this if a group of people have not yet become a formal organisation.  Applicants will be asked for a signed copy of their constitutional documents.
  • Informal or Un-constituted groups/individuals can apply for grant funding up to £300 but must be working with a constituted group that is willing to hold funds on behalf of the un-constituted group. Additional information about the partnership arrangements will be asked during the assessment process.
  • Proposals must benefit those living in Fernhill either by improving skills or by delivery of additional service(s).
  • Applicants should be members of VASLan.

Funding Outcomes

Short Term outcomes Medium Term Outcomes
Staff, volunteers, or members of the community are upskilled in some way because of participation within your activity/project. The funding/project/activity enables increased collaboration between organisations operating within the Fernhill community.
Your activity/project has resulted in an increase of community members being involved in what could be classed as a “community activity.” The funding/project/activity enables increased involvement from voluntary sector voices in partnership discussions/planning arrangements.
Organisation(s) or those tasked with running them, are more confident that they could guide the organisation sustainably as it tries to accomplish its aims.  The project, activity, or the organisation, becomes more sustainable through these actions.

Funding Availability

Organisations and community groups will be able to apply for funding up to £500, though collaborative or partnership bids of up to £1,000 will also be considered.

Application Process

The fund will be a rolling grant scheme that will open for applications on Monday 3rd October 2022.

Applicants will receive a response within 4 weeks of VASLan receiving their full application and associated required documents - signed constitutional documents and Annual Report/accounts for previous fiscal year or 3 months bank statements for newly formed organisations.
