Gordon was appointed as the CEO of VASLan in December 2010 and works closely with a Board of Volunteer Trustee Directors in delivering Third Sector Interface services for South Lanarkshire. He is the Voluntary Sector representative at the South Lanarkshire Community Planning Partnership; Integration Joint Board; and Getting it Right for South Lanarkshire's Children Partnership. Gordon also participates on a wide variety of other Boards, Strategic Groups and Partnerships. He was previously a career Civil Servant for the Department of Employment; Within the Enterprise network he worked in areas of economic and business development support before joining the third sector in 1997 working in the fields of Employment, Charity development and Funding. He has a wealth of experience in supporting and working in the sector.

Audrey oversees the administration team who deal with data input, reception/room hire, VASLan membership, processing of Saltire Awards and general admin for staff. As part of the management team her role includes: responsibility for the SAGE Accounting System and all financial records and payments within VASLan; invoicing for room hire and training; payroll; budgets; HR etc… Audrey has worked in the third sector for 15 years, previously working for various public and private sector organisations.

Charlie oversees the development of Third Sector and Statutory partner networks.  He represents the interests of the Third Sector Interface and the wider third sector on a number of strategic planning and workgroups within the South Lanarkshire partnership.  A key element of Charlie’s role is to focus on the integration of Health and Social Care, identifying areas where Third Sector partners can contribute toward supporting integration and the overall achievement the 9 Health and Wellbeing outcomes. Charlie has over 30 years’ experience of quality and process improvement, project and operational management within the private and third sectors.

Angus is the IT support officer for VASLan. His areas of expertise are in IT infrastructure design and management, web design, CRM design and project management. He has worked as an IT professional and project manager for several major companies and brings this extensive knowledge to the South Lanarkshire Third Sector.

Ann is a Development Officer with a focus on both Hamilton and CamGlen localities. She has over 14 years of experience as a development officer, working with both rural and urban communities, promoting the “Asset Based” approach to community development. During the past 8 years she has been supporting voluntary organisations that provide services for children and families. Her areas of expertise are the “Getting It Right For Every Child” initiative promoted by Scottish Government, and Child Protection Awareness/Safeguarding. She has been the third sector representative on the Child Protection Committee for the past 8 years.

Letitia is PA to Gordon Bennie, CEO and deals with his day to day administrative tasks. Letitia also carries out PA/Admin duties for the Management Team and is responsible for HR administration. Letitia also works alongside Audrey Canning helping with the SAGE Accounting System, financial records and payments within VASLan. Letitia has over 30 years’ administration experience and has worked for various organisations in the area.

Peter’s role involves supporting third sector organisations and community groups throughout South Lanarkshire on their funding journey, this involves sourcing appropriate funding, supporting applications and evaluation support. Peter comes from a community learning and development and third sector background, being an active volunteer within the Sector for a number of years. He joined VASLan in June 2015 having previously worked in interfaces in East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde. He still remains active within the community and is involved with the Whitehill Neighbourhood Management Board and Bothwell Road Action Group.

Sandra is a Development Officer for the Integrated Care Fund and works across the third sector organisations being supported by the fund to ensure that they can demonstrate their contribution within the integrated health and social care environment. She is also one of the Development Officers with a specific remit within East Kilbride and Strathaven. She has more than 20 years' experience within the Third Sector and has previously held roles in the fields of urban regeneration and environmental sustainability as well as managing grant funding and social investment programmes.

As part of VASLan’s Core & Growth Development Team, Stuart supports start-up and existing third sector organisations with a number of issues including understanding common third sector legal structures, developing governing documents, applying for charitable status, fulfilling annual reporting requirements and assisting organisations that are experiencing governance difficulties. Stuart has over six years’ experience of working in the third sector having originally joined VASLan as part on the Infobase South Lanarkshire project in January 2011 and through volunteering as a trustee with a Scottish charity.

Tina is one of our Development Officers, with a focus on volunteering. She provides information, advice, support and training to third sector organisations and partners on volunteering development. This includes capacity building of organisations to ensure best practise and promoting volunteering to enrich the quality of the experience overall. She also supports organisations to achieve Volunteer Friendly quality standard and works with secondary schools and organisations to deliver Saltire Awards. Tina has worked in public, private and voluntary sectors and has 10 years’ experience within the third sector. She joined VASLan in November 2016

Sharon’s role involves overseeing the hiring out of rooms in our building to help sustain the organisation, this includes making sure our clients’ needs are catered for. She also keeps track of the membership payments and details, and carries out all administrative functions and reception duties. Sharon volunteered with various organisations before securing her post at VASLan in December 2010.

As part of the Administration Team David primarily deals with volunteering. His role involves providing support to individuals looking for volunteer placements, managing all volunteers’ records and volunteer opportunities on our EPI system and providing support to the other Administration Officers with room bookings, Saltire Awards and administration support for the Third Sector Forums. David has been working within the third sector since 2010.
