VASLan Third Sector Awards 2019 celebrate the impact that volunteers and organisations make to the communities across South Lanarkshire.  Third%20Sec%20Awards.png

The awards will recognise the wide, varied and vital work carried out by the South Lanarkshire third sector on a daily basis. Anyone can nominate an organisation or volunteer (including themselves). 

Nominate for the following categories:

Emergency First At Work Training

This  training course will provide the  attendees with  skills to  manage  First Aid  issues  in the work place. Attendees will receive a Certificate, together with online access to a complete manual and weekly video updates for a year following the course and access to a host of other resources provided by Pro Training.

Consultation on Job Grant – Closes 9th April 2019

News Date

The Scottish Government is consulting on its key eligibility criteria and format of the Job Grant, a new benefit which will be delivered by Social Security Scotland to support young people moving back into employment. The grant will be paid to 16 – 24 year olds (up to 26 years old for care leavers) who have been in receipt of a qualifying benefit specified by Scottish Government.

Consultation on Scottish Charity Law

It has been 17 years since the Scottish Charity Law Review Commission (the ‘McFadden report’) proposed establishing a new regulator for Scotland and more than 13 years since the passage of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 which forms the basis of the legislative framework for charities in Scotland.

Given the passage of time since the Act was passed, and the changing environment that charities are operating in, the time is right to check how well the current arrangements are working and explore potential improvements.
