R:evolve Recycle, a unique project managed by LEAP, a charity that works to enhance the lives of older people across Scotland through volunteering, learning, socialising and befriending. R:evolve Recycle boutique swap shop has two shops in Hamilton and Cambuslang, and the aim is to reduce waste and CO2 through textiles products. They want to also educate people on the impact of manufacture and distributing of clothing has on the environment.

South Lanarkshire Council has recently launched the Climate Emergency and Food Fund Grants. It is an exciting opportunity for our community group to access new grants. If you have brilliant ideas for a project that will making contribution to a cleaner and greening South Lanarkshire, you might want to apply for the funding.

There is an opportunity for the community to access two new grants which will bring people together to tackle climate change and encourage the development of various new project in the community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Connected East Kilbride, is a partnership project between Older and Active in East Kilbride, East Kilbride Citizen Advice Bureau Scotland, and Kilbryde Hospice. The team has been formed to connect local people with local services to support the communities with access to services, activities, and other local information in East Kilbride.

On Friday 26^th November, NHS Lanarkshire officials were joined by Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire (VASLan) and Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire (VANL) member of staff for a free online information session on current guidance on COVID-19 safety arrangements. This event aims to help the third sector organisations to return to pre-COVID-19 operations while maintaining the safety of the people.

On Wednesday 8^th December, VASLan Third Sector Forum held a virtual Christmas Market and was joined by colleagues from social enterprises across South Lanarkshire. They showcased their products that are available to purchase as gifts for the festive season.

During the last series of the forum in 2021, we also welcomed our colleagues from Social Enterprise Network Scotland (SENScot) and FirstPort which gave an interesting presentation of support that is available to develop enterprising activities.

We all recognise that Christmas and New Year are times of great celebration providing people with an opportunity to come together, exchange gifts, share memories and show friends and family how important they are to us.

However, it is almost impossible to get through Christmas without experiencing some level of stress.

For many it can be a time that brings financial pressure, stress, loneliness and can remind us of sad times in our lives.
