Sensational seven-year-old beats off veteran volunteers to land coveted achievement award

A kind Lanarkshire lad has won a fiercely contested volunteer award - despite being only seven years old.

Lewis Watt may be small in stature but his big heart saw off competition from veteran volunteers when he recently won Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire’s (VASLan) Outstanding Contribution to Volunteering Award.

Volunteer Green Health Event Chatelherault

VASLan supported the Lanarkshire Green Health Partnership at an NHS Green Health event at Chatelherault recently. The event brought together health and social care professionals to raise awareness of the wide range of green health volunteering opportunities and the benefits they can bring. Amongst other activities, they enjoyed getting their hands dirty making seed bombs, the finished products will be distributed to voluntary organisations across Lanarkshire as part of a VASLan and VANL joint Volunteers’ Week campaign “growing volunteering across Lanarkshire”.
